Howdy friends and neighbor's!

2010 is starting off with a whole new set of plans for Sheep Creek. My husband and I have decided to become "homesteaders", a term I don't like because it sounds like a hippie fad, but that is what it's called so I will deal with it.

Plans include: raising our own food (or at least some of it!). We are planting a garden with fruits and veggies, bought some chickens for eggs, and plan on getting more goats, some sheep (we bought a Painted Desert Ram from our good friend, Stephanie), and some cows and a pig or two. I downloaded instructions for making homemade rain barrels to water the garden with and we are getting a composter so all the animal waste doesn't go to waste.

We have built a second round pen for introducing our dogs to goats/sheep and will be using part of out pasture to build an arena for further training, as well.

Purple and Tinker are now living with Tag (formerly known as Yellow) and his new daddy, Rocky. Tag turned out to be a bit laid back for an agility dog, so Purple will hopfully step up and take charge. Good luck to Rocky and the gang! I hope it all works out for you!

Our friend, Stephanie, has welcomed a new "puppy" to her life! Chloe showed up Thursday, March 18th, and weighs 7 pounds, 4 oz. Congrats to Steph and her husband on their new addition. We can't wait to see her handling a dog at an upcoming show! Start 'em young!

Thanks to all of you who have volunteered to help start a new UKC club in Oklahoma. I look forward to working with each of you and making this new club a success!

See ya'll at a show soon!
